February 2, 2026 – The opening ceremony for BoReTech Group’s Indian subsidiary was grandly held on-site. As a global leader in the PET recycling, washing, and regeneration industry, the establishment of this subsidiary marks a critical step in the realization of BoReTech’s "Internationalization + Localization" strategy.
- Market Expansion
The recycled plastics market in India is currently in a phase of rapid growth. Data indicates that India’s annual PET recycling capacity, currently at 400,000 tons, is projected to reach 750,000 tons by 2027 and expand to 1–1.2 million tons per year by 2030. In terms of market scale, the Indian recycled plastics market is expected to reach $5.277 billion by 2028, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.6%.
The opening of the Indian subsidiary comes at a time of global challenges for the rPET market. In 2025, the global plastics market underwent a cyclical adjustment, with price pressure and overcapacity becoming industry-wide hurdles. An oversupply of virgin materials continued to squeeze the rPET market, leading to softened demand from brand owners. However, the Indian market presents a different story. The mandatory recycled plastic usage policy introduced by India in 2024 has directly triggered an investment boom in the PET "bottle-to-bottle" industry.
Ou Yifeng, Vice General Manager of BoReTech, believes that this "policy-driven development" model is fundamentally reshaping the industry landscape.
- Localization Strategy
The establishment of BoReTech India signifies a deepening of the company’s localization efforts. According to Group Chairman Ou Zhewen, the subsidiary will focus on three core missions: localized manufacturing, enhanced EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) delivery, and reliable after-sales service, creating a long-term partnership platform close to the market.

Local production and service capabilities offer multiple advantages, including shortened delivery cycles and reduced operating costs. Furthermore, as a vital hub in the group’s global strategy, the Indian base will extend its reach to surrounding markets in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
BoReTech has implemented over 260 projects across more than 40 countries, maintaining a market share of over 80% in India and over 75% in Japan. With the Indian subsidiary now officially operational, the company is successfully transitioning from a Chinese environmental equipment manufacturer into a global provider of environmental engineering solutions.
